TP-Link WiFi Extender RE220: Dual-Band Amplifier for Expanded Coverage and Connectivity.
Category: kittyhok wifi security camera repeater range extender
The RE220 extends your existing Wi-Fi coverage with next-generation 11AC Wi-Fi technology. It seamlessly integrates with any standard Wi-Fi router, creating stronger dual-band connections in hard-to-reach areas, ensuring seamless wireless coverage throughout your home or office. The RE220 features Adaptive Path Selection (APS), which allows dual-band or tri-band range extenders to dynamically select the best backhaul connection between 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 5 GHz2 bands, ensuring the RE220 and the router maintain the optimal connection for superior Wi-Fi performance.
Comparable to the NETGEAR AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX3700-100NAS), the RE220's maximum wireless transmission rates are derived from the IEEE 802.11 standard specifications. The range, coverage, and number of connected devices were defined based on test results under normal usage conditions. However, the actual wireless transmission rate, coverage, and number of connected devices may vary due to various factors, including building materials, physical obstacles, network conditions, local interference, traffic volume and density, product location, network complexity, network overhead, and client limitations such as rated performance, location, connection quality, and condition.
The RE220 operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F). As a dual-band Wi-Fi extender, it offers up to 44% more bandwidth than single-band N300 Wi-Fi extenders, boosting Internet Wi-Fi coverage up to 1200 square feet and connecting up to 30 devices (2.4 GHz: 300 Mbps; 5 GHz: 433 Mbps).
The RE220 helps eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones, providing a lag-free connection to a variety of devices, including wired devices via the Fast Ethernet port. It is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 98SE, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10, as well as Mac OS, NetWare, UNIX, and Linux.
The RE220 allows you to expand your Wi-Fi coverage for your smart devices, such as smartphones, smart TVs, Fire Sticks, Google Chromecasts, and Alexa Echo devices, among others. The easy setup process, with just two simple taps, and the smart indicator light help you install the RE220 in the optimal location.
Additionally, the RE220 supports OneMesh technology, enabling the creation of a OneMesh network for seamless roaming when paired with the Archer A7 router (with more devices to be updated in the future). The Ethernet port on the RE220 can also turn your wired internet connection into a wireless access point or function as a wireless adapter to connect wired devices, such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, or smart TVs.
It's important to note that all Wi-Fi extenders are designed to increase or improve Wi-Fi coverage, not to directly increase speed. In some cases, improving signal reliability can affect overall throughput.
